Old Bachelor
Dinner came early: lunch was cold,
Breakfast a fading memory,
So I linger over dessert.
I face a long and bitter evening
Before I climb the stairs to rest.
I savor each sweet bite.

Haiku
The heart that is old
Yearns for bright

Of hearts that are young

About the blog
The title comes from the television show
Firefly
, from a line that had nothing whatsoever to do with poetry.
Some posts are backdated to indicate original chronology.
Fer cryin' out loud, don't plagiarize!

Jack of All Parades
"I didn't mean to say it
I just blurted it out
You pretended not to notice
Or be taken aback
But I loved you there and then
It's as simple as that"
~
Elvis Costello
